WOW. THIS IS A GREAT PLACE FOR A NICE, QUIET DINNER. THE STEAKS AND MARTINIS ARE AWESOME. THE SERVICE IS WONDERFUL.

Don't Go!. Our waitress was really pretty, but really dingy.... she was awful! They should hire people because they are good, not because they are cute. It took my husband like 20 minutes to get a beer! When I went and found her and asked her about it, she seemed really annoyed. I ordered a vodka and cranberry tall and she looked at me like I was an alien... apparently she did not know what tall meant. My father's steak was supposed to be medium rare and it was burnt to a crisp so bad... it tasted like charcoal. We always go here for special occasions but are never going back... it's so loud in there anyways, we always tolerated it though because the food was so good and the staff was so great, but not anymore... Do they have a new manager now or something?

This is a winner. Great neighborhood place. Mac's isn't special until you don't have it anymore. Having returned from 13 years away from DFW, spent in San Francisco, Portland, and Denver, we often longed for a great neighborhood place like this. Far above the quality of the national chains it competes with, Mac's offers a solid, excellent meal, in comfortable seating, excecuted perfectly and served with courtesy and efficiency. Start with the excellent house salad, which may be consistently the best salad found in any restaurant. The steaks are consistently excellent, with a variety of sauces available. The seafood is fresh with a variety of preparations, but the grilled shrimp is always superb. The chicken fired steak is perfect. I only wish they'd bring the cheeseburger back to the menu; 13 years ago it could compete with Kincaids.

Go for the brunch. Tin ceilings, dark wood and a good neighborhood bar make Mac's a favorite. Sunday brunch is well worth a visit. Highly recommended are eggs benedict, the fruit bar and hot cinnamon rolls. For dinner, try their fish specials and the house salad.
