All Paws Grooming

Terrible job, then they overcharge you. I decided to try out All Paws Grooming after calling around to check prices and see if there were any locally-owned businesses that offered prices competitive to prices at PetSmart, where we have often brought our two dogs with good results. All Paws had a professional-looking website and a competitive price, and the person who answered the phone seemed very enthusiastic so I thought I'd drive out of my way and check it out.

My experience: upon arrival, the poor customer service and unkempt appearance of the store were the first indicators that I should not have left my dogs there.

After leaving the dogs, the owner and her employees called me four times throughout the day to tell me each time that they were unable to get the dogs' fur even and asking me if it was ok to cut it shorter than we had agreed. During the last call, I told them just to leave it uneven, as by now I feared that my collies would be at risk for sunburn if their fur was cut too short.

Although their hours are listed as being open until 5:00pm, they told me they were closing at 4:30pm that day so I had to rush over to pick them up. Both dogs had very, very short fur. Their bellies had been shaven without my permission; they later suffered sunburns in that area.

The owner proceeded to charge me DOUBLE the price she had quoted on the phone. She said this breed starts around $60 but can go up if there is a lot of matting. One dog did have quite a bit of matting; Petsmart starts at the same price and we have paid $75 when his fur is in this condition.However, All Paws charged us $120 for each dog with the excuse that they had to go over them so many times with the shaver (since they couldn't get the fur even).

An attempt to correct the issue with the owner only yielded an offer for a $10 discount the next time I brought the dogs (not an option, and totally insufficient considering the $120 overcharge).…
