Want to feel spoiled?.
We spent the past two nights at this B&B, celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary! In those 20 years, we've gone to a lot of little get-aways. This place was THE best we've been to!
The old house is beautiful, warm, and inviting! The hosts greeted us and were extremely nice and informative. They asked right away if we wanted tea, lemonade or hot cocoa. We chose the hot cocoa, which was decadant and had peppermint marshmallows in it! In our room were three heart-shaped cookies with our names and one that said "Make a memory." The room was beautiful. The bed was so, so comfy with unbelievably soft sheets! The heart-shaped whirlpool tub was so relaxing!
The first morning, breakfast arrived at our room at the time we had asked for it to be delivered. On the trays were red roses, a delicious omelet, fresh fruit, water, juice and coffee for me (cocoa for hubby), along with heart-shaped cinnamon rools. All was delicious!!
That evening, we had big, juicy, chocolate-covered strawberries (which were part of our package). For breakfast this morning we had chocolate chip pancakes (heart-shaped, with a swirl of chocolate on top, powdered sugar, syrup and butter. There was also scrambled eggs and bacon. Every single thing we ate there was excellent!
We were very fortunate to get these two nights at an extremely great price (it was one of the kb deals) but would be worth the full price - definitely!
We definitely made a memory. And I hope to return sometime!!
A little piece of romantic heaven on earth. I was simply browsing the web looking for a bed and breakfast to spend the night after our wedding ceremony at the courthouse. Second marriage for us both and were planning on a beachside ceremony on our honeymoon. The proprietor offered to do the ceremoney there for about the same price as the courthouse cost. I figured why not, and it would be a nice graden setting instead of the courthouse and we could stay the night there. (We really were intrigued by the heart-shaped jacuzzi tubs for two!) Little did I know how above and beyond they would go to make our simple day very special! We were greeted right away and felt immediately welcome as we signed the guestbook. David sat down with us and went over all aspects of our ceremony and I really appreciated how kind he was and shared himself in talking with us. We then decided on music and where in the garden we would like to have the ceremony (waterfall or gazebo background). So much more than waht I expected!!! We were then shown to our room and my fiance was given a room to change in so he would not see the bride prior to the ceremony. Our room (the Love Nest) was amazing with soft terry robes and plush surroundings. Even homemade cookies with icing that said Congrats with our names. The ceremony was held by the waterfall and the soft music playing in the garden while the sun slowly set was more than either of us were expecting. David (owner) even helped with his wonderful photographic advice and took some of us also. The evening was romance deluxe! We loved the bed which was like sleeping on clouds. The next morning was an incredible breakfast delivered to our room with heart-shaped sticky buns! I was greeted as the new "Mrs." We had a leisurely morning and truly enjoyed ourselves. As we were leaving, a warm congratulatory hug was given by both owners and even an 8X10 photo of the bride and groom. Finding them was a Godsend for our special day. Every need was anticipated and not just met.
This B&B in Fort Worth is designed for locking loving relationships, perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries and other special events..
In Short
With two cottages and three suites in a historic mansion, couples looking for a romantic retreat have plenty of options here. The suites are fully equipped, including a heart-shaped whirlpool tub for two, candles and terry robes. The Beloved cottage is popular for honeymoons with burgundy, pink and gold decor, as well as a king bed with lace canopy. The Sweetheart cottage is more a country feel with a cozy fireplace and adjustable vibrating queen bed.
