Really happy with my treatments. I started getting hair removal for my legs and underarms about 6 months ago. I havent had to shave in so long! I signed up with Amber and got a really great price too. My technicians were super friendly and did a great job. Happy not to have to buy razors and get bumps any more :)
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I have always had noticeable hair on my upper lip, and my mother wanted to surprise me with 6 treatments of laser hair removal. I was very excited. I spoke with the consultant named Amber, who told me that it would be very effective, and if it didn't all go away within the 6 treatments, then you might need 1 or 2 more, which would be 50% off. My mom happened to walk into the center when they were having a special, so she paid $300 for 6 treatments. I went every 4-6 weeks on the days that they had scheduled me for. I was never late, and never missed an appointment. Well, a few weeks after my last appointment, the hair started growing back. And most of it was still just as thick as before. My mom was furious, and so we went back to talk to Amber to see what they could do. Amber said that I would need another 6 treatments, but she couldn't guarantee that all the hair would be gone even after those treatments. And she wanted us to pay another $200. My mom demanded a refund, but they refused. Amber was trying to bull**** us by saying that the hair was finer and not as thick and also said that I might have a hormone problem or I might be going through menopause! For God's sake, I'm 21! Ridiculous!!! My mom and I will not be returning there. Just be warned, they don't give refunds, even if the treatments don't work.
Stay Away, please!. I was convinced by the manager at the time Melinda Cruz that if I made the purchase in full with my CareCredit she would give me a discount. Melinda Cruz stated that I had to purchase a 2-6inch pkg. to cover the costs for the size of the tattoo. She stated that according to the size and colors of the tattoo that it would take about 1 year to have the tattoo gone so I would need 10 treatments, 10 months, treatments spaced out every 4 weeks to allow for healing time. Purchase was made in the amt. of $4000 for a 9"x3" laser tattoo removal on 10-26-11 on my CareCredit card. I was told that it is not very painful, that it feels like a rubber band snap on the skin. I went in to get my first treatment, and it was unbearable. I let the lady know that was lasering my tattoo that I could smell my skin burning and that it felt like my skin was burning. I had to stop the lady 3 times until she finished. The lady never offered to give me any numbing cream. All she gave me were elastic bandages and said to hold on to those while she finishes. I was in so much pain that night and for the next 3 days. The next appointment in the middle of November, I requested to be numbed. I paid about $50 to have a numbing cream applied. When the lady started to laser my tattoo, I had to stop her immediately because I told her it still hurt and I still felt everything. I asked if she had anything stronger and she said no. I told her I was sorry but that I couldn't go through it because it is so painful to me. She didn't sound sympathetic at all. She walked me to the receptionist and told her to void the second treatment and she told me to call her when I was ready. I didn't receive a refund for the numbing cream. I was very disappointed in the way she treated me. I never received a courtesy call afterwards. I never received a call back to schedule another treatment, which just proves to me that they don't care. I continued to make a payment each month on my credit card to avoid getting bad credit. I decided to call on February 15, 2012 and requested to speak to Melinda regarding wanting a refund. The receptionist told me that she no longer worked there, and that their manager Trang would call me back. I did not get a call back until the next day at 5:40pm. I was at work, but I called back and left a voice message to have my call returned. I waited for days and no call back. I went in personally on Monday 2-20-12. Spoke to Trang, let her know I was not happy with the services and that I did not want to continue with the 9 treatments because of the pain. In the beginning Trang just offered to finish my treatment in 4 months, but I told her that is not what I was told because I was told the healing has to have 4 weeks. She admitted to me that laser tattoo removal is the most painful treatment they offered, so she then offered to exchange services and tried to sell me laser hair removal. She stated that my first treatment already was charged in the amt of about $1000 and that I had a credit $2700 but the hair removal would be more. I let her know that I don't want any services that all I want is a refund because I am not happy with their services. She told me they have a no refund policy but they do refunds on certain circumstances and that mine was not one of them. I told her thank you anyways, I will contact CareCredit to dispute my purchase. Today I received a letter from CareCredit stating that they have credited my account in the amount billed $4,000! Which I am very happy with. So whoever goes to this place, DO NOT pay with CareCredit, all they want is to suck you in. I reported them to the BBB and Bioderm's reason for a no refund is so bad. They stated that it is because they purchase their equipment, materials, room time, personal services through a vendor! What a bad business. Stay away seriously. Their staff don't sound caring or professional at all. I definitely learned my lesson with this company.
Ridiculous Rules!. I bought the Groupon for Laser Hair Removal and I wish I didn't! I have made 4 visits to this place and have only accomplished 1 removal session! The 1st was a consultation where the discussion was targeted to my sun damage (freckles) and not hair removal. My 1st actual session the girl told me the wrong time so I was 5 mins late (10 mins early to the time I was told) and they said they could not treat me because my session was only allotted 15 minutes!!! Don't ever try to reschedule because the machine is only there 1 week out of the month and you'll be waiting another month! Today I couldn't get my treatment because I took Aleve within the last 7 DAYS, so gotta wait until next month! I've never had my time wasted so casually! I'm sure I can't be the only customer who can't catch a break! Message to BioDerm Arlington - Buy your own d@mn machine and stop wasting customers time!!!
Not sure about others experience, but mine was great. Started getting a couple of different treatments done last October. Very happy with my first consult, the consultant seemed very knowledgable and eager to help. Currently getting laser hair removal and the results have been great, my underarms and legs are almost completely smooth! My hair used to grow really fast and I go about a month or so without needing to shave now. I had a couple of different estheticians for my visits and they were very thourough and nice. Very satisfied overall. I'm thinking about doing some botox and restylane here now! :)
This is my personal experience from November 14, 2011. I purchased a Groupon for laser hair removal went in for my initial consultation and after a 2 hour consultation left with a $4,000.00 bill. Not once during this consultation, which I might add was pretty high pressure, was I ever informed that once you prepay for these services even though none of them have been performed they are NON REFUNDABLE even if I chose to cancel everything on the same day of signing.
Once the consultation was over I did follow through with some research on the internet and was surprised with all the negative reviews, and the reviews that suggested that the 5 star reviews you would see were all listed within 2 days of each other implying that they were posted by employees. My consultant assured me that they were a reputable company having been in business 9 years, receiving the D Beauty magazine award 4 consecutive years for best Medspa.The Better Business Bureau shows that Bioderm Skin Care and Laser Center has been in business since 2005, for 6 years not 9 as I was told. My expectations were to find glowing reviews and ethical business practices. On further investigation with the Better Business Bureau I found that they have had 7 complaints in 3 years, 2 in last 12 months. Four of those complaints were not to the customers satisfaction.
fake reviews!. All the 5 star reviews were all posted in 2 days. FAKE ratings from employees! Be careful.
False Advertising with Groupon.
I bought a special package from Groupon that was supposed to be Six Laser Hair Removal treatments. After I purchased the package and called to make the first appointment I was told that it was really five laser hair removal treatments and one consultation. The consultation was a joke. I just filled out forms. I will use them for the rest of my Groupon but will not go there again after that.
Also, I should point out that the people who have given them the glowing reviews are the employees themselves. I know this because I recognized one of them from their name and picture on their profile.
Not recommended. Buyers beware! My laser hair removal treatments were not permanent at all (as advertised)...about 4 months after all treatments the hair has returned. Do not expect any refunds. Staff was incompetent and burned my tattoo on my leg twice. (Horrible blisters for two weeks, and parts of my tattoo missing now).
HAIR FREE!!!!. I LOVE not having to shave anymore! Everyone that works there is really nice and very helpful! Can't wait to get more treatments done!!!
