Saturday nights.... This is an establishment that I visit on a semi-regular basis, since on Saturday nights they have wonderful live music with a very pleasant atmosphere. However, last night I was not allowed in because the girl at the door considered that my shoes "looked they might be athletic shoes" although they clearly are not. Is it because they are white and stand out? I don't know, but unfortunately this place is becoming more and more pretentious. I have been admitted (very well welcomed, actually) into much more prestigious places in Puerto Rico with these exact same shoes. Don't get me wrong; the band that plays at Gloria's on Saturday night is outstanding, the overall atmosphere is great, and you will have fun, but you will have to deal with an exaggeratedly over-enforced dress code and overpriced mojitos that are made with too much Sprite for their own good. There are people inside with sandals, but that's probably because they got there before 9 PM and had dinner; I suppose that's the point of a $10 cover charge after 10 PM, but not even that will get you in if there's so much as a wrinkle on you. Very dissapointed to say the least...
Is this food microwaved?. Everytime I go there, I order the waitress leaves into the kitchen doors and then back out and low and behold there is my food. A total of 5 minutes! Everytime, I am not kidding. Just average microwaved food. They do make a good mojita.
