It's one of our usual spots. Also the House Burger and Gorgonzola Fries are amazing. They will haunt you.
Blah. Great things happening on Magnolia, West 7th, So7, etc. Decided to try this place since it always looks packed midday. Menu looked impressive, food was bland and boring. Waiter was eager to serve us...then get us out. Might have been fine if the food was good enough to put up with that.
Overhyped. I went with my husband and mother for lunch on a Monday. We arrived right at 11:45 a.m. but still waited a while for a table. Not a big deal, as I knew the lunch crowd can be heavy. My husband ordered the burger. They didn't ask for a temperature and the patty came out well done. My mother ordered the soup of the day (roasted poblano and corn) that came with a grilled portabella on the side. My mother enjoyed the combination, but felt the portabella was a bit lacking in flavor. I didn't detect much of a roasted flavor in the soup or taste much poblano (aside from the diced poblanos on top), but it still tasted good. I had the tilapia tacos. They were a bit bland for my taste, but the lighter fare (tilapia, cabbage, rice) suited me well that day. My only major complaint was that because they were so busy, we were very rushed throughout our visit. The waitress left the check on the table before we had even finished eating and took the signed receipt before we left the table. Believe me, we don't "camp out" at tables, but sitting and visiting with my mother for 5 minutes felt like we were offending the staff. When I contacted the owner of the business about my concerns regarding service, he basically told me I was lying. I won't be going back.
Good Bistro. I like this place, however, it can have some inconsistencies. A little expensive but they do have some creative dishes. The gargonzola fries are to die for. It is a quaint little place in the Magnolia arts district, i suggest you make reservations or you will have to wait, the place is small. I do recommend the place, it is good.
Give it a try!. Service and food are great overall. If you like a wedge salad, I recommend trying it here! Some of their dishes are average while others are outstanding! I've eaten there several times for lunch, all of which we've had to wait a while to be seated. Avoid going at noon!
Editorial Review. Casual bistro in Fort Worth dishes upscale, yet affordable dishes, as well as catering, private parties and more.
