olenjacks you can miss it.
Olenjack's is a miss on many levels, My cocktail was weak on vodka, the salad I ordered came in a metal bowl than made my salad difficult to eat because of the shape of the bowl . The best thing about my dinner was the salad.
The entree - Chicken fried steak was tough - I was unable to cut it with a knife they gave me to use. The potatoes and cream gravy were cold and the whole thing had no flavor. The roasted cream corn was overly sweet. My companion had Chicken Pasta - which was lacking chicken - perhaps three small pieces in an overly large pile of penne pasta and cream.
Our waiter never returned to ask us about the meal until he was selling desserts.
Last nights dinner was my fifth time at Olenjack's and it was my last.
Well-traveled chef brings impressive pedigree to Arlington's Lincoln Square..
In Short
The floor plan is divided into three separate areas including an ornate recess/sitting room as you walk in, an ample bar area and medium-sized dining room. Chef Brian Olenjack has devised an affordable "French style menu with Texas flair" honed from stints at Reata, Metro Grill and Main Street Blues Room. Impressive choices include the flash fried antelope ribs with jalapeno jelly, pecan-crusted trout with pancetta, arugula and Texas honey butter or beef tenderloin with wild mushroom hash and tomato hollandaise.
