Not For The Money. There are better quality steak houses in the DFW area to spend $100.00 plus at. It's better than Outback but not by much. Service was poor, steak was average.
The best steak in Dallas. This is an amazing location with restaurants, a Hotel and Spa. If you have never been to Texas this is a must stop. The dining experience here is enormous, Many many flavors, wine bars, and food choices. This restaurant has Black Angus beef perfectly prepared by Chef Joanne Bondy and her culinary team. The service was excellent and I had one of the best dining experiences here I have had in a long time. The spa has body wraps, facials, massage everything you can think of as well . The spa and this restaurant is on the top of my list for nightlife gifts and the day spa experience. Come to Gaylord where EVERYTHING really is bigger and better in Texas.
Terrible Service and Mediocre Food. The food is mediocre (at best) and the service is highly disappointing and terrible!! We went to Old Hickory as a group of 12 people to celebrate a birthday. We got there exactly at the time of our reservation and our table was not ready. When we finally got our table, we waited 15 minutes for a waiter to come get our drink order. It took another 20 minutes for our drinks to finally come to our table and another 35 minutes after that to get our menus, and another 20 minutes after to get our order. We finally order, starting with the appetizers and additional drinks. The appetizers come without utensils (no soup spoon for the bisque, etc). When the food does finally come out, half the steaks at our table are not cooked the way it was requested. We don't even bother sending it back because (1) it'll take too long and (2) our waiter can't be found. Our waiter doesn't even come back to check on us to make sure we have everything we need until we're through with our meals. We speak to a manager who couldn't care less about our comments. The manager thanks us for our comments and tells us he'll work on the service. There was no further effort or corrections made on the part of the manager or waiter! 20 minutes after we've finished our meal, we have to ask for the dessert menu. We then also have to ask for the bill -- the restaurant only has 2 tables left at this point - and we have to ask for the bill -- really, are you that busy with 2 tables left in the entire restaurant that we have to continuously ask for everything hours later. The entire dinner process took over 2.5 hours. This is a terrible, horrible and inconsiderate place---not to mention that you can get better food for the price somewhere else. We expected high quality and service from a place like this and were left quite disappointed!
Over 100 wines from the wine bar!. Not only the best Steaks and prepared sides, but the finest wine list I have come by in Texas. Being from California I have found at other places wine to be uninteresting and overpriced in Texas. THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE! Great service, selection and atmosphere. I give it a two thumbs up!
Editorial Review. Texas steakhouse serves aged beef paired with a large selection of diverse wines.
