OK but lots of better options. When I first went to a PF Changs years ago in Dallas, I was in love. Their lettuce wraps were amazing to me and my palate for chinese food was limited. As the years have gone by and Pei Wei's have popped up, as well as I have become more aware of local chinese takeout restuarants and authentic Chinese restaurants (like Kirin Court and Hong Kong Royal), my love for PF Changs has dwindled.

Now I feel liek if I want PF Changs version of Americanized Chinese food, I can go to Pei Wei and get it a lot cheaper. It is my understanding that they are the same company. Or if I want more authentic Chinese food, then I can go to one of the more authentic takeout or sit down Chinese places.

When I didn't know as much about food, PF Changs was an awesome introduction to Chinese cuisine, but now that I know more, it just isn't the best option any more.

Good service. The restaurant does not have authentic Chinese food. The atmosphere is too loud . I noticed some families were feeling uncomfortable with the boisterous voices inside the restaurant. Going back to the food, it was okay. I had shrimp with lobster sauce.

This gussied-up chain bustles with singles and families craving Chinese food favorites.. In Short
Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce.

What Can You Expect from a Chain!. What might be a good way to put it--the "bastardization" of Chinese food? It's as if you or I (non-Asian) went to a Chinse supermarket, bought a bunch of spices and condiments, and went home to prepare "Chinese food." Imitation Chinese, at best. Good example--the Pepper Steak, which I unfortunately ordered. Black pepper on top of red pepper flakes on top of chopped bell peppers (on top of steak and a brown sauce). The result--practically inedible. I guess the cook was following some recipe from the executive offices of the company!

Overpriced, Not Authentic Chinese.... I am from the Northeast where Chinese food is the God of all food. Since moving to Texas I have been appalled at how generally bad most of the chinese food is here. I tried PF Chang's because friends and colleagues kept telling me how good the food was. No. Its not that good. The ambiance of PF Chang's is wonderful: delicate low lighting, beautiful table linens, nice set up (though a bit tight for my tastes). The food is certainly not worth the price they charge. I was not impressed... i could go home to my old neighborhood, go to the little chinese food joint on the corner, watch the chinese chef's cook the food in their open kitchens and pay $6-$9 for a fabulous meal with my plate overflowing with hot, freshly prepared food.

PF Chang's is nice to look at, but the concoctions this chain comes up with are not very good.
